More about tools:

Brother

“Bro”, or also called “Brother” – is an original filter coffee maker made of wood and linen. “Bro” is probably the first attempt to create a Lithuanian coffee maker. The Lithuanian coffee maker was created not only in search of the authentic local coffee ritual and taste – it was also a desire to create a minimal, mobile, sustainable coffee maker. Coffee made with “Bro” is richer and at the same time softer, because more of the oils in the coffee get into the cup, and the linen filter structure rounds out the drink itself.

Chemex

The elegant glass Chemex, resembling an hourglass, is probably one of the most famous filter coffee makers in the world. It was created in the United States in 1941 by German-born scientist Peter Schlumbohm. Today, you can find Chemex not only in many places dedicated to coffee, but also in Hollywood films, at the Museum of Modern Art MoMA in New York and, of course, in the homes of many coffee enthusiasts or in specialized coffee places. It is a great standard for filter coffee makers, a starting point for getting to know and maybe even liking light and refreshing coffee. In our coffee bar, we use Chemex with reusable steel filters.

AeroPress

Today, the Aeropress tool, especially loved by coffee enthusiasts, was created in 2005 by self-taught inventor Alan Adler from the United States. The Aeropress is a light, mobile, durable toy for the coffee egoist. It will prepare concentrated coffee with an intense flavor. If we compare it with another popular Chemex tool for making filtered coffee, the Aeropress will be like a brighter light bulb. The fruity notes in the coffee will be activated, and you will also usually feel a pronounced body weight of the drink due to the larger amount of coffee.

Siphon

The siphon, or so-called vacuum coffee tool, is perhaps the most magical-looking coffee-making device, the date and origin of which are not exactly known, but may indeed date back to the times of alchemists. True, the patent for the vacuum tool was registered in 1838 and belongs to a Frenchwoman named Jeanne Richard, but its authorship is disputed by the Germans, the English, the French and others. The siphon is like a laboratory device from a nostalgic science fiction movie. The tool consists of two glass flasks, between which there is a filter, allowing you to prepare coffee with an intense flavor, strong body, and clear color.

Nell Drip

Nel drip is often called the old Japanese method of making coffee, or more precisely, a ritual. Preparing coffee using this method requires enough time. And patience. And rehearsals. The Japanese like to prepare such coffee quietly, calmly, as if meditating. What to expect in a cup? Intense, rich, velvety-tasting coffee, which we obtain with the help of a reusable cotton filter. It will also be thick and viscous, but not bitter at all. On the contrary, the dark drink prepared using Nel Drip will be quite sweet. And due to its high concentration, such coffee will acquire even more delicious shades as it cools. So take your time and enjoy not only the preparation process, but also the drink itself.
